10 LIFE LESSONS from a “Still rockin’” 64 year old!

1) WEAR RED LIPSTICK!!! For God’s sake “What’s with the nude lip” if you love red??!! There are no time limits on us girls, except for having babies and that’s OK! We know that! Be brave and true to yourself...you are your own canvas it’s yours to paint and design how YOU want it! If you need a lesson on SEXY OLDER WOMEN…take a trip to Paris…individual style is yours for the taking! Rock the stilettos wear the DVF black dress and get your SWAG on…..you’re not dead yet!

2) BELIEVE IN GOD...Seriously...what do you have to lose??Are you really happy thinking that “You are all there is”? That you have to “go it alone”...as a “recovered alcoholic” I can tell you this...my life with all its ups and downs became far more manageable when I buddied up with my maker...I dump A LOT on him...but hell...he’s GOD he can take it!

3) SPOIL YOUR CHILDREN….YES!!!!! You heard me correctly...spoil them: with love and gratitude for them being in your life…give them what YOU CAN...willingly with no strings attached...this will teach them generosity and more importantly it will instill in them that this IS an abundant Universe and that there is NO lack. That they are creators and have the power to manifest anything they can dream of!

4) STOP thinking you have to be happy all of the time. It’s overrated! Life is

tough. Death, aging, loss, sickness and suffering are part of life. The key is to recognize the suffering. Acknowledge and accept the accompanying emotion…just don’t live in it forever.

When written in Chinese, the word CRISIS is composed of two characters one represents DANGER and the other represents OPPORTUNITY.

REMEMBER THAT!

5) TRYING TO FIND YOURSELF!? How about focusing on “creating”

yourself. You’ll NEVER find yourself because we aren’t one dimensional...we are

forever changing and hallelujah for that! How terribly boring would that be if there

were only “ONE ME”?? A prison sentence for sure. As you grow and learn and life around you changes don’t you want to grow and change with it??….come on...be an adventurer...so you’re a lawyer that left your practice to be a shrimp

farmer...more power to you!

6) BECOME A MENTOR to the young. I know we live in a “youth oriented

society”…but don’t wish to be that 25 year old...she needs you! She needs your

wisdom, your guidance. She needs to look at you as a survivor...that anything is

possible that growing older is a gift...that each stage in life opens doors that only

that stage of life can open! “Be the person YOU needed, when you were younger”!

7) RESCUE animals. Be a pet owner. Give a gift of love and protection to Gods

creatures…and if you can’t own one...tithe any amount you are comfortable with

to a no kill shelter...this will open up your heart to a world of unconditional love...I

mean is it any coincidence that DOG is GOD spelled backwards!?And when your

pet dies please don’t say “you can’t take the heartbreak ever again of losing

one”...be unselfish and open your home and heart again to another….you’ll heal

faster as well…

8) IF YOU WANT TO DRAW….draw boundaries...Too often in a woman’s life do

we stretch ourselves too thin. We work harder in our career because it is harder to prove your worth when you are a female. We are the caretakers...if it’s a

husband, kids, parents friends or pets we are born nurturers...along the way we

lose “ourselves” our dreams, our health and our personal peace. Being “SELFish” is a must...if you don’t take care of you first...your life can easily become “undone”...

Ever take a flight? Who are you supposed to put the oxygen mask on first?

You or your child? Take those long walks, read a book, take a mineral

bath, dream…

9) BUY THESE BOOKS…There are 2 books that really made an impact on my

Life...I tell every person I meet to read them...they are life changers...

1) “You are a BADASS” Jen Sincero...as she states herself “By the end of the

book you’ll understand why you are how you are, how to love what you can’t

change, how to change what you don’t love, and how to use THE FORCE to kick

some serious ass”!

2) “The Afterlife of Billy Fingers” Annie Kagan. You may read it and think it is a BS story to make money...or you can read it and open your mind and stop thinking this is “all there is”...why in hell would God have wasted his time creating all of us precious souls just to rot in some overpriced coffin for eternity? Just read it….it sure is better then thinking that you just stop being...after all, we are spirit in human form...open your mind.

10) YESTERDAY-TODAY-TOMORROW...taken from AA: "There are 2 days in every week about which we should not worry, 2 days which should be kept free from fear and apprehension...YESTERDAY, with all of its faults has passed ever beyond our control.

TOMORROW, its sun will rise either in splendor or behind a mask of clouds…but

it will rise. Until it does we have NO stake in TOMORROW for it is yet unborn.

This leaves only TODAY. Any person can handle just one day. It is only when we

add the burdens of those 2 eternities...YESTERDAY and TOMORROW that we

break down. It is not the experience of TODAY that drives us mad...it is remorse

and bitterness for something that happened YESTERDAY and the dread of what

can happen TOMORROW...Let us therefore, live one day at a time”…today is a

“PRESENT”.

Much love…Carol
